Subject: Almost A Breakout
This group combined tight musicianship and decent songwriting into what might be called a Vineyard Sound remix of the Grateful Dead, with a touch of the Doors on keyboards. The result is always pleasant and, on occasion, smokin', as on "World We" in the '96 performance. Those looking for "blues" won't find any, except for some occasional funk. With stronger songwriting, or a blowout soloist, this group eaisly could have made the national charts.

Giant Panda played around the Phila, PA area from 1991 - 1996. They did in fact borrow the name from the Tom Robbins novel - Another Roadside Attraction). Some of the members of the original band play on occasion in a group called Stone Groove. Cr Gruver, who played keys for GP plays 3 or 4 nights a week in around the Denver, CO area. (All of this as of Jan 2005) - thanks!
